Robotic Engineer

Our client is seeking a Robotic Engineer in the Highalnd Park, MI area. This is a 1st shift / day position.

Responsibilities

  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize industrial robots, cobots, and automated tooling.

  • Lead the integration and commissioning of new robotic cells, conveyors, end-of-arm tooling, and vision systems.

  • Troubleshoot automation-related downtime and perform root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time, quality, throughput, and equipment reliability.

  • Work with PLCs, sensors, controls, and other automation equipment to support integrated manufacturing systems.

  • Partner with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams on automation upgrades and equipment improvements.

  • Develop and maintain schematics, programming standards, preventive maintenance documentation, and other technical documentation.

  • Train production and maintenance personnel on robotic equipment operation, troubleshooting, and safety.

  • Ensure robotic and automation systems meet applicable safety requirements and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of hands-on industrial robotics or automation experience.

  • Experience programming and troubleshooting robotic systems such as FANUC, ABB, KUKA, and/or Universal Robots.

  • Strong understanding of PLCs, sensors, automation controls, and integrated manufacturing equipment.

  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.

  • Experience with CAD software.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with Cognex, Keyence, or similar machine vision systems is preferred.

  • Exposure to Industry 4.0, manufacturing data collection, and smart factory technologies is a plus.
