Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Extrusions Manager, this position performs frontline supervisory functions and is responsible for safety, corrective action, associate relations, housekeeping and performance reviews for assigned shift. This position will have multiple direct reports in the various areas of the extrusions department (Presses, Saw Operators, Press Operators, Rackers, Stackers, etc.)

The pay for this position is between 90 - 100k/year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assign, supervise and coordinate daily activities of assigned shift to ensure production goals are met and work is performed in a safe manner
• Ensure production demands are met for assigned shift and work is focused on quality, safety, and environmental responsibility
• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
• Ensure staff is trained to perform their job safely and in the most efficient manner
• Provide technical leadership and training as needed
• Make recommendations to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
• Identify nonconforming material/products and work toward resolution
• Conduct daily shift start-up meetings (Tool Box Meetings) discussing safety issues and expected workload
• Conduct annual employee performance reviews
• Communicate, motivate, supervise, counsel and discipline all direct reports as necessary
• Participate in hiring decisions for assigned shift
• Facilitate seamless hand off between shifts by communicating status of work
• Accurately complete all shift documentation/paperwork
• Address complaints and resolve issues related to assigned shift
• Maintain strict adherence to company and safety policies/procedures
• Act as a back-up to the Extrusions Manager in their absence
• Safety Advocate for department, strictly enforcing all safety policies and procedures
• Promote and enforce ISO 9001 elements as they apply to the Extrusions department
• Maintain all performance goals assigned by the Extrusions Manager
• Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Must be able to perform Essential Duties and Responsibilities of job description
• 5+ years of aluminum extrusion experience
• Associate's degree or technical school preferred
• Previous supervisory experience preferred
